Lectra to Exhibit at New WSA Shoe Event
Lectra will show its range of software and hardware products at the Feb. 19–21 run of the Materials at WSA show, a new sourcing and components event run in conjunction with the WSA show, held at the Sands Expo Center.
The company will show its PDM (product-development management) software for the footwear industry, as well as a variety of leather cutters and other design software applications.
Pierre Bonnet—director of the footwear, luggage and leather goods market for Lectra—will be on hand for the event, showing the company’s Romans CAD Software Data Management, which he said is the only PDM software dedicated to footwear. The system is based on real-time sharing between decision makers, designers, suppliers and customers for all data generated during the design phase. The system can be integrated into other applications to save as much as 50 percent off production times, Bonnet added.
Lectra will also show its Lumiere cutters, which work with leather for samples and small runs. The cutters can be disconnected from the production machines if necessary and optimize cutting times by allowing the combination of manual and automatic nesting of specific pieces, guaranteeing maximum process flexibility, Bonnet said.
Lectra is based in Paris and has regional offices in Cypress, Calif.
