Laundry, C&C Sold
New York– based apparel giant Liz Claiborne Inc. sold two of its West Coast brands, Laundry by Design and C&C California, to Perry Ellis International Inc. for about $37 million in cash. The sale is part of a strategic shift in Liz’s brands. The company also announced plans to close its Sigrid Olsen label and shutter 54 Sigrid Olsen stores. The company’s Enyce division, which was previously planned for sale, will be retained. Liz has five more brands that are under review: Dana Buchman, Ellen Tracy, Kensie, Mac & Jac and prAna.
