Macy's Shutters 9
Cincinnati-based department-store giant Macy’s Inc. will close nine underperforming stores in Indiana, Louisiana, Ohio, Oklahoma, Texas and Utah. All nine stores were acquired by Macy’s when the company bought May Co. in 2005. Together, the stores employ nearly 900 people, who will either be offered positions at nearby stores or given severance pay and outplacement assistance, according to the department store.
