Gold Among the Influential 25
Designer Jared Gold, founder and senior designer of the Black Chandelier label and retail chain, was named among the top 25 “cultural power brokers” in Utah by the Salt Lake Tribune. Gold launched his line in Los Angeles in 1997, relocating to Salt Lake City in 2003 when he merged his company with Nexia Holdings Inc. The designer was 12th on the Tribune’s list, which also featured Robert Redford at No. 3. In the accompanying story, the Salt Lake Tribune praised the designer and his Victorian-and-Goth-influenced aesthetic, saying, “Gold’s distinctive (can you say audacious?) statements are helping to propel Utah design beyond T-Shirts-R-Us.”
