Sue Wong to Host Fashion Week Show in Talmadge Estate
Sue Wong will host a 1920s-themed masquerade party and fashion presentation at one of her Los Angeles–area homes, The Cedars, which was once the home of silent-film star Norma Talmadge.
The March 14 event will also feature an announcement by IDG World Expo “in support of Los Angeles fashion market,” although show producers are keeping tight-lipped about IDG’s news. IDG is a producer of trade shows and consumer events, including Macworld Conference & Expo, E3 Media & Business Summit, Entertainment For All, GreenXchange Xpo, LinuxWorld Conference & Expo and Next Generation Data Center.
“I am honored to act as host on this momentous occasion of IDG’s formal announcement of their intent to bring their expertise to the Los Angeles fashion marketplace,” Wong said in a statement.
The fashion-week event will highlight a capsule collection of the eveningwear and cocktail-dress designer’s Fall 2008 collection. The 1926 estate in Los Feliz is a 10,000-square-foot mansion designed by Marcel Tourner to resemble a 17th-century Venetian palazzo. In addition to Talmadge, the estate has had many other famous tenants, including Howard Hughes, Errol Flynn, Ralph Bellamy, Bela Lugosi, Marilyn Monroe, Jimi Hendrix, Dennis Hopper, Lou Reed and Johnny Depp. Wong spent the past few years restoring the home to its original splendor.
