Sypder Buys Cloudveil
Boulder, Colo.–based ski brand Spyder Active Sports purchased Jackson, Wyo.–based technical-outerwear company Cloudvei l Mountai n Works for an undisclosed amount. Cloudveil will continue to operate as a separate brand and an independent division of Spyder. Cloudveil’s founders, president brian Cousins and vice president Stephen Sullivan, will remain with their company in their same capacities. The deal allows Spyder to branch beyond the ski market, diversify its retail channel distribution and “build a year-round business,” according to a company statement. Cloudveil will maintain its headquarters and flagship store in Jackson.
