Patagonia's Eco Opening
When Ventura-based Patagonia opened its new store in Boulder, Colo., the outdoor and active apparel maker announced the winner of its “Voice Your Choice” eco campaign. Patagonia asked its customers to choose between several Colorado-based environmental organizations: Eco-Cycle, Prairie Dog Coalition, Rock the Earth, Thorne Ecological Institute or Wildlands Restoration Volunteers. The winner, Prairie Dog Coalition, received $5,000 from Patagonia. The 2,961-square-foot Boulder store features bamboo fixtures and materials made from recycled products, including chairs made from recycled tires, metal tables made from recycled metal factory parts, and furniture made from recycled fir flooring and recycled tin.
