Avery Buys DM Label
Pasadena-based label and tag company Avery Dennison Corp. acquired DM Label Group for an undisclosed amount. Based in Taipei, Taiwan, DM has 11 manufacturing facilities in China, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Taiwan and the United States. The company produces woven labels, printed labels, accessory tapes, hangtags, heat-transfer labels and “skin touch” fabric ribbon tape. The company was founded in 1960 by the Hsu family. James Hsu, DM’s president and chief executive officer, is remaining with the company as vice president and general manager of the DM division. “The DM Label Group strengthens our woven label product line and reinforces our presence in Asia, a major sourcing area for the global apparel, retail branding and marking industry,” said Dean A. Scarborough, Avery’s president and chief executive officer.
