California Designers Among 'Project Runway' Lineup
Bravo TV’s hit fashion reality show, “Project Runway,” will return Nov. 14 for its fourth season of design and drama. The Emmy-nominated show, which pits designers against each other in weekly challenges, will include four California-based designers in its cast of 15.
Based in Los Angeles, they include Rami Kashou, whose eponymous line has been a fixture of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Los Angeles for years; Christina Scarbo, designer of the contemporary brand Kit Pistol, which was featured in Gen Art’s Fresh Faces young designer showcase in 2006; Simone LeBlanc, who makes eco-friendly fashions under the TS Bloom label; and Kathleen Vaughn, a designer for the Los Angeles–based contemporary line Harkham, who goes by the name “Sweet P.”
The show, which is filmed in New York, wrapped shooting earlier this summer. Contestants vie for a prize that includes a runway show during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York, $100,000 to start a fashion line, a spread in Elle magazine and other prizes. Last season, Los Angeles–based Cosa Nostra designer Jeffrey Sebelia took home the top prize. —Erin Barajas
