Dreamgirl Moves to Online Sales
Los Angeles–based lingerie brand Dreamgirl International is installing a new Internet-based software system that will enable its retailers and sales agents to place orders, check inventories and conduct other business from the field or store at any time of the day.
The system, called iVendix, is produced by Denver-based CenterStone Technologies Inc. and will go live later this month.
Dreamgirl has more than 5,000 dealers and sales reps in North America, and company executives were looking to free up time for retailers as well as eliminate a lot of paperwork.
“In order to continue to provide a superior level of customer service in today’s business environment, we felt that Dreamgirl needed a proven solution that would be quickly adopted by our specialty retailers,” said Christopher Scharff, president of Dreamgirl International. “We want our customers to see product availability and be able to place and track orders 24/7. And because this new solution is Internet-enabled and available 24/7, our dealers will be able to spend more time during the day on their shop floors with their customers and still be able to conduct business with Dreamgirl after normal retail business hours.”
CenterStone President Tom Detmer said that 54 percent of retailers spend more with vendors who have online ordering systems such as CenterStone’s, spending, on average, 13 percent more with these vendors.
“Our iVendix solution delivers a large and extensive user community that is continuing to grow at a very rapid pace. And it is the adoption rate by this user community that will drive the ROI for Dreamgirl and will help them continue to grow their brand in the specialty retail channel,” Detmer said.
Other iVendix users include The North Face, Jan Sport, Vans, Reef and VF Imagewear. For more information, visit www.centerstonetech.com. —Robert McAllister
