Guess Appoints New Europe Chief

Los Angeles–based manufacturer and retailer Guess? Inc. has announced the appointment of Massimo Macchi as president of Guess Europe, effective December 2007. Macchi, who most recently held the post of group executive vice president and chief executive at Gianfranco Ferre, a luxury apparel company, will oversee all aspects of Guess’ European business and lead the brand’s expansion in Europe and the Middle East.

Macchi, who has held management positions at Bulgari Group, Gucci Group and Testoni Group, as well as IT Holdings, developer of the Versace Jeans Couture and Versace Sport brands, will report to Paul Marciano, Guess’ chief executive and vice chairman of the board of directors.

Guess owns and operates 365 retail stores in the United States and Canada. At press time, the company’s publicly traded stock was trading at $45.18 per share. —Erin Barajas
