Plano, Texas–based JCPenney has launched a new campaign called “Know Before You Go” for its e-commerce site (www.jcp.com). The initiative is designed to let the consumer research products online before visiting a JCPenney store. The program was created after the retailer conducted consumer research that found customers were searching JCPenney’s Web site for information, as well as visiting to shop. The “Know Before You Go” initiative allows customers to search for products using a wide range of criteria, gather detailed information about products, e-mail this information to friends and check to see if items are in stock in their local store.
