Shades of Blue

Los Angeles–based Blue Holdings Inc. has reduced its payroll by $2 million and is in negotiations to modify its partnership with William Adams’ label, Will.i.am, as part of a cost-saving effort to make the blue-jeans company profitable. Blue Holdings, known for its Antik Denim, Taverniti So and Yanuk brands, had a $3.9 million net loss on revenues of $9.5 million for the third quarter, ending Sept. 30. Glenn Palmer, the company’s new chief executive and president, said 2007 has been a transitional year for the company, which was founded in 2005 by Paul Guez, chairman.
