Nike Football, a.k.a. Soccer
Beaverton, Ore.–based footwear and athletic-apparel maker Nike Inc. named Bert Hoyt as vice president and general manager of global football (or American soccer). Hoyt has nearly 20 years of experience in the sporting-goods business, including nearly a decade at Nike, where he most recently was vice president and general manager of the Nike German Alpine Region, which includes Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Slovenia. He succeeds Joaquin Hidalgo, who headed up the global football business for the past year in addition to his duties as vice president of global marketing for the Nike brand. With Hoyt’s promotion, Hidalgo will focus his efforts on Nike’s global marketing.
