California Labels Up for Dallas Fashion Awards
West Coast brands came away with the lion’s share of nominations for the 32nd Annual Dallas Fashion Awards, set for Oct. 7 at the Dallas Market Center.
Finalists from California companies include XCVI, Paige Premium Denim and 7 For All Mankind in the casual-contemporary category; Johnny Was in contemporary; Marisa Baratelli in after-five wear; Charm & Luck and Lockhart in accessories; Liz Palacios and Brighton Inc. in jewelry; and Charlie Rocket and LeTop in childrenswear.
Other nominees include Maggie London, Yoana Baraschi, PHYL Couture, Lafayette 148, Eileen Fisher, Louben and Tribal.
Buyers will be voting for their choices in each category at the Aug. 19–22 market event in Dallas, or they can vote online at www.dallasmarketcenter.com after June 7. The Oct. 7 gala is expected to attract several celebrities and other VIPs.
In addition to the category awards, special personal-style and achievement awards will be named in the coming weeks. The awards recognize “superior design innovation, quality workmanship and retail performance.”—Robert McAllister
