Blue's i.am Antik Deal
Commerce-based Blue Holdings Inc. has struck a deal with will.i.am––the musician, producer and member of the Grammy Award–winning group the Black Eyed Peas––for a premium-denim line that will complement Blue Holdings’ Antik Denim collection. The new line is scheduled to bow in August 2007 and will be targeted at high-end specialty stores and better department stores. The i.am.Antik collection will include design input from will.i.am, who attended the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising before forming the Black Eyed Peas, according to Blue Holdings. In other Blue Holdings news, the company named Harry Haralambus and Leonard Hecht to its board of directors as independent board members and announced that Marshall Geller has resigned as a director. Hecht is a turnaround and acquisitions expert and the founder and president of Chrysalis Capital Group, an investment banking firm in Southern California. Haralambus is president of international consultancy the Lambus Group, which specializes in apparel product distribution and licensing.
