Trunk LTD Gets New Owner, Recruits Duarte
Beverly Hills–based Live Nation, a music-venue management company, has acquired the remaining interest in Trunk LTD, a Culver City, Calif.–based maker of music-licensed T-shirts and concert merchandise.
With the new ownership comes an executive shuffle. Trunk’s founder and chief executive, Brad Becker, has left the company. Marc Choper, formerly Trunk’s executive vice president and chief operations officer, has been promoted to president and chief executive officer. Designer Henry Duarte, known for his high-end denim collection, has joined Trunk as director of product design and will be responsible for marshalling all of the brand’s products, including an expansion into a lifestyle collection.
Live Nation acquired a majority stake in Trunk in July 2006 as a way to grow its business around live music concerts. The company also promotes live concerts and produces concerts at more than 160 venues that it owns, operates or holds booking rights for.—Erin Barajas
