L.A. Fashion Week Fall '07: Christian Audigier
Christian Audigier debuted his namesake collection with a flashy runway show on March 21 at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at Smashbox Studios, where celebrities, including jocks Dennis Rodman and Reggie Bush, packed the venue’s main tent and 13-year-old Jasmine Villegas and the Locke High School Choir belted out a couple of tunes to start the show.
Audigier presented an equally ostentatious collection featuring shiny silk scarf dresses embellished with crown emblems and Audigier’s monogram and name as well as a host of T-shirts and tops bearing Melrose Avenue culture imagery—be it tattoo work or “Cholo” and Hot Rod symbolism. The bright colors and busy prints worked best on the women’s pieces. Other standouts included plenty of denim and metallic jackets. —Robert McAllister
