New Licensees for Sanrio
Sanrio named Jennifer Campbell its new vice president of licensing and struck two new licensing agreements for its Hello Kitty brand.
This is a new position for the Japanese apparel and gift company, which has its U.S. headquarters in Torrance, Calif.
Campbell was most recently director of licensing for Brand Sense Partners, a marketing-services firm that specializes in licensing and brand development. Her regrave;sumegrave; also includes stints at Mattel, Upper Deck Co. and Walt Disney Co.
Chatsworth, Calif.–based Loungefly Inc. already produces and distributes Hello Kitty accessories to specialty stores. Under the new agreement, Loungefly will extend distribution to include better specialty stores and lifestyle retailers, including skate and surf shops, gift stores and music/entertainment retailers.
Los Angeles–based Junkfood Apparel, a division of Duluth, Ga.–based Delta Apparel Inc., will produce Hello Kitty sportswear for the juniors and tween markets. The collection will include fashion tops, T-shirts, fleece tops and bottoms, as well as mother/daughter two-piece sets consisting of an adult-size T-shirt and a matching infant onesie. —Alison A.
