Porridge Clothing Gets New Showroom, HQ
Porridge Clothing is on the expansion track. The 3-year-old contemporary brand will open a new showroom and headquarters in the Los Angeles Fashion District on July 1.
The move will more than double its current space as it relocates to a new floor at 719 S. Los Angeles St., taking 3,400 square feet in suite 515.
Aside from a new wholesale and exhibit space, the suite will also house its design, sourcing and shipping operations.
The company has also retained a new marketing and public-relations agency, Velvet Communications, to handle communications and other marketing functions.
“This is an exciting time for Porridge because of these new additions coupled with the consistent business growth pattern we’ve seen since launching three years ago,” said Laura Stang-O’Dell, president and designer. “My vision is to continue in this direction by creating realistic goals for my team—the intention is to serve Porridge in the marketplace for a long time.”
Porridge produces contemporary, casual dresses, shirts, skirts and tops employing vintage-inspired prints and silhouettes.
The line is sold at boutiques and specialty chains, including Anthropologie, Saks Fifth Avenue, Market and Olive and Bettes.
