Get Out Your Toilet Paper
For the third year in a row, Cheap-Chic-Weddings.com will host its “Toilet Paper Wedding Dress Contest.”
From June 1 through July 31, contestants can submit photos of wedding dresses and headpieces constructed exclusively from toilet paper, tape and glue to the Web site. The winner will receive $500 and other prizes.
Last year, more than 1,000 designs were submitted.
Laura Gawne, Cheap-Chic’s co-founder, said she expects the number of entries to double this year. “It’s just a lot of fun. Making a toilet-paper wedding dress is a popular game at wedding showers. Usually those dresses are crazy, and half of the ’brides’ look like mummies. This is for those people who want to see what they can do with more time. We’ve had some really fantastic dresses submitted,” Gawne said.
