Swim Association of Florida Spring '08
Celebrating its 25th year, the Swimwear Association of Florida went all out for its annual runway show featuring suits from SwimShow 2008 exhibitors. Hosted July 12 at Nikki’s Beach in Miami Beach, the association’s show included more than 200 looks from juniors, designer, contemporary and missy lines. Brights, florals, nautical themes and modern prints proved popular across all of the show’s categories, as were vintage-inspired prints from paisley to Hawaiian hibiscus flowers. Missy looks focused on body-skimming tankinis and modest necklines. Designers went for a touch of glamour with upscale touches, including gold-plated rings, precious metal studs and handmade, artisan touches. Juniors got sassy with punky prints and plenty of neon splashes. The grand finale—complete with fireworks, sparklers and a birthday cake—was sponsored by Luli Fama. —Erin Barajas
