Gerber Names Marketing Exec; Debuts Spreader
Tolland, Conn.–based Gerber Technology has named Cynthia Mahlstedt to the newly created position of director of marketing communications.
Mahlstedt will be responsible for overseeing various initiatives pertaining to brand management, public relations, marketing communications collateral and events, Web site design, and telemarketing. She comes to the company from aerospace company Pratt & Whitney, where she was marketing manager. She also was manager of marketing communications for Reflexite Americas, which produces retroreflective materials.
Among the new products Mahlstedt will help promote is the GERBERspreader XLs125, which was just released to the trade. The XLs125 is the second in line in the XL series offering higher weight and roll capacity as well as additional features to fit a variety of spreading applications.
The spreader handles material rolls weighing up to 160 pounds and can accept wovens and knits. Company technicians said the spreader tested to provide accurate and consistent spread length and alignment of fabric edges, which enables parts to be nested closer to the beginning, end and edges of the spread, eliminating end loss and optimizing material utilization.—Robert McAllister
