Burma Ban
The Washington D.C.–based trade group American Apparel & Footwear Association is recommending President Bush renew the Burmese Freedom and Democracy Act of 2003, set to expire on July 26, which restricts imports from the country in reaction to reports of human rights violations committed by Burma’s military government. Both the House and Senate have passed the legislation.
