Blitzer Joins Charlotte
San Diego– based retail chain Charlotte Russe Holding Inc. named Michael J. Blitzer to its board of directors. Blitzer is a principal of Portsmouth Partners LLC, a consultancy to private equity groups that focus on retail, wholesale and consumer industries. His career has included more than 30 years at Macy’s and Phillips–Van Heusen Corp., and he has worked with the Neiman Marcus Group and Liz Claiborne Inc. and has served on the boards of Kate Spade LLC and LeSportsac Inc. He currently is on the board of directors of Modell’s Sporting Goods. Charlotte Russe operates 408 mall-based stores in 43 states and Puerto Rico, and expects to open at least 50 more stores in fiscal year 2007.
