Pool Now With Thread
The Pooltradeshow has teamed up with San Diego–based independent shopping event Thread, which has moved its headquarters to Los Angeles, where it will share space at Pool’s offices in the city’s Silverlake district.
Trade show Pool and consumer show Thread both feature up-and-coming labels. Thread also focuses on indie art, music and film. The two shows will head to Las Vegas next month when Thread will bring a select group of labels to participate in the Thread Showroom at the Aug. 27–29 run of Pool, which will again be held in a giant tent in the Gold Lot at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Thread will continue to host its direct-toconsumer shows in San Diego, Seattle and San Francisco. The next show is set for Sept. 9 at the Aerospace Museum in San Diego, followed by a Sept. 16 show at Fremont Studios in Seattle and a Sept. 22 show at the Herbst Pavilion in San Francisco.
Held immediately on the last day of the Action Sports Retailer Trade Expo and the day after the Agenda show closes in San Diego, Thread features a raft of freebies for its guests, including gift bags, manicures and pedicures in the 944 lounge, and complimentary haircuts and styling provided by the Disconnected Salon. Volkswagen has signed on as a partner for the San Diego show and will provide shuttle service between the W San Diego hotel and the Aerospace Museum for Thread guests in a convertible VW Eos.
In Seattle, Thread will partner with another show, the Smart trade show (www.thesmartshow.com), both showing under the same roof at Fremont Studios.
Tickets for Thread’s consumer events are $7 in advance and $10 at the door.
