Cupron Joins the Army

Greensboro, N.C.–based textile maker Cupron Inc. struck a deal with the United States Army and Air Force Exchange Service stores for its patented copper-impregnated anti-bacterial socks.

According to the company, Cupron socks limit the growth of odor-causing bacteria and fungus and other bacteria that can degrade the fabric.

The socks will be available in the over 3,100 AAFES stores in over 30 countries, five U.S. territories and 49 states. Cupron is also working with the U.S. Marine Corps, which is testing the socks. The Marines have distributed the Cupron socks to new recruits at the Parris Island USMC base in Parris Island, S.C.
