TALA's Crowded House
About 120 children spilled into the California Market Center Fashion Theater for the Textile Association of Los Angeles’ annual holiday party.
This was the local association’s 63rd annual party, and the guests of honor were children from several local after-school programs, including the Los Angeles Boys & Girls Club, the Eastside Boys & Girls Club, the Chinatown Service Center, the Salvation Army Red Shield Community Center and two districts of the Salesian Boys and Girls Club.
Organized by TALA board member Fran Sude, the party included food donated by Trimana and gifts donated by CMC tenant Mickey Lang, president of gift showroom CMA. Once again, Los Angeles Councilmember Ed Reyes provided buses to ferry the children to and from the party.
The children sang Christmas carols and enjoyed a visit from Santa (TALA member Michael Goldman), who read an original story, “Harry the Horse,” before giving gifts to each child.
Attorney and amateur photographer Denise Daniels took photos with plans to send copies to each after-school organization.
