Karmaloop Launches Entertainment Channel
Boston-based online retailer Karmaloop (www.karmaloop.com) has launched KarmaloopTV, an online entertainment channel aimed at streetwear culture.
The site, accessible at www.karmalooptv.com, launched Nov. 27 and features interviews with designers, company representatives, artists, musicians and others. The company has film crews in Los Angeles and New York that will report from their home bases as well as other streetwear capitals.
Current content includes an interview with Jonas Bevacqua of LRG andfeatures on Obey founder and artist Shepard Fairey as well as hip-hop pioneer Russell Simmons and producer DJ Muggs of Cypress Hill. Another spot takes a look at the life cycle of producing sneakers.
“Karmaloop first started with the idea of supplying consumers with the freshest hard-to-find streetwear brands in an easy online format,” said Chief Executive Officer Greg Selkoe. “We then branched off to bring our customers the freshest styles from up-and-coming underground designers with Karmaloop Kazbah and now we are bringing our visitors KarmaloopTV. We consistently strive to be more than an online retailer.”
