New Prez at Retailer
Retail chain Stein Mart Inc. has appointed Linda McFarland Farthing as the company’s new president and chief executive. She is taking over from Michael D. Fisher, who resigned recently after working with the Jacksonville, Fla.–based company for 14 years. Farthing has been a member of the Stein Mart board since 1999. She has also held several executive positions with companies such as The Cato Corp., Friedman’s Inc. and J.B. Ivey Co.
