Licensing Game
Miami-based Perry Ellis International has been on a licensing spree. It recently announced three new licensing agreements in Asia. The first is in South Korea with Posong Co. Ltd. to develop men’s and women’s swimwear lines and women’s coverups. Its second agreement is in Japan with the Royal Corp. to make men’s shoes under the Perry Ellis, Perry Ellis Portfolio and Perry Ellis America brands. Thirdly, an agreement was signed with the Viet Tien Garment Export-Import Corp. in Vietnam to develop a line of clothing under the Manhattan brand, initially concentrating on dress shirts. Meanwhile, Perry Ellis said it entered into a licensing agreement with The Levy Group in the United States to design, manufacture and distribute men’s outerwear, topcoats and raincoats in the United States and men’s outerwear in Canada under the Perry Ellis and Perry Ellis Portfolio brands.
