M.Fredric Fund-Raises Like a Rock Star
M. Fredric co-owner Fred Levine, center, partied on Aug. 9 with his wife, Lisa Levine, at left, and his son, Adam Levine, who leads the Grammy Award–winning band Maroon 5. The reason for the celebration at the M. Fredric store in Los Angeles’ Studio City neighborhood was to raise funds for two causes: the American Cancer Society and Autism Care and Treatment Today. The party was produced by M.Fredric boutiques, Mark Nason Footwear and 7Diamonds menswear. Adam Levine and his music company, BMG, donated some tunes to help the cause. Those making a donation of more than $5 to the American Cancer Society at M.Fredric stores will receive a mini-disc of Maroon 5 songs.
M.Fredric has raised more than $300,000 for the American Cancer Society. With the Maroon 5 CD, he’s hoping to push the fund-raising to over the $1 million mark. More than 150 people attended the party, including Golden Globe–nominated actor Lou Diamond Phillips. —Andrew Asch
