E-Commerce Companies Merge

Santa Barbara, Calif.–based e-tailer CoutureCandy (www.couturecandy.com) has acquired online rival GoClothing for an undisclosed sum.

The transaction covers all of GoClothing’s inventory, trademarks and customer lists.

CoutureCandy founders Eric Jones and Matthew Hunter said they plan to merge the companies immediately.

Both companies carry a range of fashion brands with a strong West Coast representation. CoutureCandy also features a celebrity blog and offers tips and advice from stylists as well as other services.

“Our long-term strategy is to reintroduce GoClothing as an off-price/off-season boutique sometime this fall,” said Jones.

CoutureCandy is part of the Luxury Apparel Group Inc., which includes other e-commerce sites, including Label Spree (www.labelspree.com) and Daszign (www.daszign.com). —Robert McAllister
