PacSun Gets Space-Age Sales Analyzer
Anaheim, Calif.–based retailer Pacific Sunwear of California Inc. continues to enhance its back-office technology initiatives. Its latest venture has the retailer using business-intelligence software to analyze key sales figures in order to glean insight on trends and inventories by region, stores and other demographics.
PacSun has teamed with McLean, Va.–based MicroStrategy Inc. and will use its Business Intelligence Platform for enterprise- wide reporting and analysis.
The technology converts detailed transactional data into personalized reports through dashboards and exception reporting for Pac- Sun executives, merchants, merchandise planners and allocators.
Ron Ehlers, Pacific Sunwear’s vice president of information services, said the company was looking for scalability to handle its large databases and powerful analytics to help the company enhance productivity.—R.M.
