New York Fashion Week: Max Azria
Launched last season at New York Fashion Week, BCBG Max Azria’s designer line Max Azria showed its Spring ’07 collection Sept. 11 at Olympus Fashion Week. Rich colors and bold prints highlighted the collection’s slouchy and asymmetrical aesthetic.
Mismatched sleeves and off-the-shoulder togas shared the runway with oversize blouses and skirts with enormous box pleats. Voluminous sweaters were belted over airy dresses, and a multihued shortsleeved coat topped short shorts.
Pretty dresses in jewel and neutral tones continued the “throw it on and go” sensibility of the collection. Floor-skimming caftans, long chemise dresses, halters and float dresses were fashioned from linen, satin and silk.
Separates included low-slung pleated trousers, slouchy high-waist overall shorts, prim blouses and culottes. —Erin Barajas
