New York Fashion Week: Jenni Kayne
Jenni Kayne’s Spring/Summer 2007 collection was meant to evoke summer, but it’s a summer look colored by the dream-like qualities of the Italian movies of the 1960s and ’70s, according to the 24-year-old Los Angeles–based designer.
Kayne debuted the line with a 37-look fashion show on Sept. 9 during Olympus Fashion Week in New York City.
The collection’s styles ranged from long Grecian gowns to mini-dresses layered with shrunken motorcycle jackets, cardigans and hoodies.
Kayne used materials such as chiffon, baby cashmere and paper-thin leather in colors of salmon, yellow and purple. Price points for her collection ranged from $110 to $2,500. It has been sold at Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus and at boutiques such as Satine.
