True Religion Apparel Inc. in Los Angeles continues its executive hiring spree. Its latest hire is Zihaad Wells, who has been named to the newly created position of design director. He reports directly to Jeff Lubell, the company’s founder and chief executive. The 31-year-old designer began his career in 1998 with San Francisco jeans maker Levi Strauss & Co. After six years at Levi’s, Wells was appointed the company’s creative manager. In other company news, True Religion has acquired a new distributor for Latin America. Thads Commercio of Sao Paulo, Brazil, has been named an exclusive distributor for True Religion in Central and South America.
