San Francisco Fashion Week 2006: Wee Scotty
Childrenswear designer Lynne Gallagher, who has a shop on San Francisco’s Union Street, went all out in her Spring 2007 collection, which embraced fashions from almost every era from the 1900s and into the future.
She started with a rich brown Edwardian top with pouf sleeves worn with a gold skirt. From there, the former costume designer progressed to the Roaring ’20s with droppedwaist silhouettes on dresses and fringe touches on other items. For the 1960s, she conjured up the past with flower-power images that were particularly vibrant with ablack jumper studded with yellow sunflowers—the perfect piece for a San Francisco day at Golden Gate Park.
The future forecast utilized lots of natural organic fibers that included soy terry pants and organic mesh vests. Gallagher, who also runs the Wee Scotty Fashion School, included designs from some of her students/models, including a contemporary design by 6-year-old Sophia Williams, who created a blue knit top with orange cap-sleeves and ruched detail.
