San Francisco Fashion Week '06: Dichotomy
This was the debut collection of designer Teresa Romero, an Oakland resident who based her line on a contradiction of elements within a single piece. The line started out with a dark color palette of mostly blacks and progressed into dark reds, pinks and finally whites. The young designer likes the idea of a feminine silhouette with a certain edge—all part of that dichotomy. Her cotton dresses and skirts included dropped-waist pieces in dotted Swiss, voile and seersucker. Each garment has its own set of vintage buttons.
