Liz's New Man
After a nine-month search, New York–based manufacturing giant Liz Claiborne has named a new chief executive to replace Paul Charron, who is retiring. William L. McComb, company group chairman at Johnson & Johnson, will take over as chief executive on Nov. 6. Charron will remain chairman of the board until the end of 2006 and will become chairman emeritus on Jan. 1, 2007. He had been the chief executive since 1995. McComb has worked with Johnson & Johnson since 1999. He has had responsibility for operations in more than 100 countries and $3.8 billion in sales, overseeing brands such as Tylenol, Motrin and Clean & Clear.
