Kiwali Rolls Out T-shirt Line
Kiwali LLC of Emeryville, Calif., has added designer T-shirts to its line, which until now had been focused on accessories for the Apple iPod.
The new T-shirt line features graphics over American Apparel–made blank tees and will retail for $29.95 for men’s shirts and $34.95 for women’s.
Since it was founded last year, the company has been producing iPod cases featuring bold graphics with an urban edge. Company founder Paul Lee said that while iPod accessories remain a hot business, he wanted to bring the company’s original art to a broader distribution channel and T-shirts were the perfect vehicle.
“We have eight styles to start,” Lee said. “They kind of have an urban feel to them. One of the designs is a phoenix, which has been popular for our iPod line.”The shirts also are being offered to retailers through a wholesale program.
