Gianni and Donatella Versace to Be Honored on Walk of Style
Gianni and Donatella Versace will be the next recipients of the Rodeo Drive Walk of Style Award, the 3-year-old award launched by the Rodeo Drive Committee and the city of Beverly Hills.
Donatella Versace, the creative director of the Italian fashion house founded by her late brother, Gianni Versace, will be on hand for the award ceremony, scheduled for Feb. 8. Donatella Versace will accept awards for herself and her brother, and both will be have a permanent plaque added to the Walk of Style on Rodeo Drive.
Gianni Versace founded the house of Versace in 1978 and built the company to be an internationally recognized luxury brand. After his 1997 murder, his sister Donatella took up the design reins and continued to grow the brand and maintain the company’s high-end image.
Previous recipients of the Walk of Style Award include Giorgio Armani (2003), Tom Ford (2004), Herb Ritts and Mario Testino (2005), and this year’s honorees Salvatore Ferragamo, Edith Head, James Acheson and Milena Canonero. —A.A.N.
