Golden Gate Purchase
San Francisco–based private equity investment company Golden Gate Capital completed the recapitalization of Jacksonville, Fla.–based Venue Swimwear, Madison, Wis.–based WinterSilks LLC and New York– based Venus Manufacturing. Venus manufactures swimwear, apparel and accessories sold through direct mail and online channels. Its subsidiary, WinterSilks, is a direct marketer of silk undergarments, apparel and accessories targeting the upscale baby-boomer market. Golden Gate’s portfolio company, Catalog Holdings Inc., completed the recapitalization, which adds two new brands to Catalog Holdings’ stable of specialty apparel brands, including Spiegel, Newport News, Carabella, AB Lambdin, Norm Thompson, Solutions, Sahalie, Haband, Appleseed’s, Draper’s & Damon’s and The Tog Shop.
