Four More Parisians for Bon-Ton
York, Pa.–based Bon-Ton Stores Inc. acquired four Parisian department stores from Charlotte, N.C.–based Belk Inc., as well as the rights to construct a fifth Parisian store. Bon-Ton paid approximately $22 million for the Parisian stores, which generated net sales of more than $90 million in 2005. After the deal is complete, Bon-Ton will operate 282 stores in 23 states with a combined estimated annual volume of $3.4 billion. The Bon-Ton Stores Inc. operates several stores under the Bon-Ton, Bergner’s, Boston Store, Carson Pirie Scott, Elder-Beerman, Herberger’s, Parisian and Younkers nameplates.
