Nike's Apple Deal
Beaverton, Ore.–based athletic apparel maker Nike Inc. has struck a deal with Cupertino, Calif.–based Apple to launch a line of products under the Nike+iPod brand. The first item under the partnership will be the Nike+iPod Sport Kit, a wireless system that will allow Nike+Air Zoom Moire shoes to communicate with an iPod nano to provide the wearer with information on time, distance, calories burned and pace. Other Nike+ shoes will be launched with similar communication capabilities. The kit includes an in-shoe sensor and a special receiver, which attaches to the iPod. The kit will launch this summer and retail for $29.
