Los Angeles Fashion Week Fall '06: Truth By Your Grace, Lisa Jane
Hipsters and scene-sters converged on the Mountain Bar in Los Angeles’ Chinatown to see styles by Truth by Your Grace and Lisa Jane. Brown Label Denim was paired with looks from both lines. Organized by Beckie Lynn of Los Angeles–based Beckie Lynn Productions, the show aimed to expose up-and-coming lines to fashion watchers and consumers.
“We wanted to give young brands the opportunity to debut their lines and get some good publicity,” Lynn said. In keeping with the independent spirit, Lynn hired mostly models looking for representation.
Truth by Your Grace, a new cut-and-sew line for men and women designed by Los Angeles–based Chris Savas, showed hand-spray-painted and hand-embroidered T-shirts, polos and hoodies.
Lisa Jane, a line of tops, T-shirts and dresses designed by Amber Bessey, showed strappy tie-dyed tops, mottled empire-waist frocks and shorts with glittery gold pockets. —Erin Barajas
