Los Angeles Fashion Week Fall '06: Fremont
Los Angeles contemporary label Fremont promised “snowfall in L.A.,” and delivered just that March 25 when it staged its Fall ’06 fashion show on the roof of the Cosmo Lofts building in Hollywood.
A fashionably hipster crowd gathered to watch the show below city lights and gently falling fake snow.
On the runway, Fremont owners Brittany Pham and Devin Carlson, and designer/stylist Jessica Loria presented a collection that mixed city sophistication with country charm.
The show featured tweedy button-front skirts and jumpsuits, fitted vests and girly dresses with bubble skirts or pom-pom fringe for the girls. For guys, the looks included crisp jackets and trousers in earth tones worn with shirts in casual plaid prints. There was plenty of plaid for girls, including plaid wool jackets and lacetrimmed plaid dresses, as well as flirty party dresses in black velvet and black lace. —Alison A. Nieder
