Friends With Restraining Orders
A U.S. District Court judge in Los Angeles has granted Costa Mesa–based Paul Frank Industries a temporary restraining order against Paul Frank Sunich, preventing Sunich from using the Paul Frank trademark or trade name. Sunich, a co-founder of Paul Frank Industries, recently filed federal and California suits against PFI, calling for dissolution of the company and charging trademark infringement for PFI’s Julius the Monkey character, created by Sunich in 1995. According to Sunich’s suit, he was fired from the company at the end of last year.
