New Generation Updates RedHorse
New Generation Computing Inc. has been busy. The Miami Lakes, Fla., firm, which develops sourcing and supply chain management software, released an updated version of RedHorse, its enterprise resource planning system. The new version features improvements in electronic data interchange, customer service, order fulfillment and accounting management.
RedHorse manages all post-production steps including order processing, EDI exchange, invoicing and accounts receivables, inventory control, import management, and remote plant management.
The ERP system uses the current version of MS SQL Server and has certification from Microsoft. It also interfaces with other New Generation products, including e-SPS, e-PDM and TPM, as well as with third-party software such as UPS and FedEx shipping systems.
The newest RedHorse customer is Biscotti Inc., a girls’ dresses resource. The company had been using New Generation’s AMAS program (apparel management accounting system) for managing sales, distribution, finance, production planning, administration, accounting and EDI.
Biscotti president Robert Mack said real-time information is helping to provide added value to its clients. “This flow of quality information reduces turnaround time and inventory costs while increasing order fulfillment to the end users,” Mack said.
New Generation’s growth has the company expanding on both coasts. After recently hiring Linda Chase to manage West Coast sales, it opened an office in New York and hired former Lectra executive Richard Farb as director of business development. Farb will focus on new business development and managing existing customers in the New York metro region. —Robert McAllister
