Robin's Jean
ROCKER DENIM: French-born Robin Chretien, former designer at Blue Cult and co-founder and former partner at Hudson Jeans, launched his own line, Robin’s Jean, for Spring 2006. Although some in the denim market are leaning toward the dark, clean and sleek look, Chretien stays true to a Western and rock ’n’ roll style. “Whatever the market is, I’ll do denim anyway. I just do denim because I love to do denim,” said Chretien of the competitive denim market. The line’s signature logo is a pair of wings, which is embroidered across the rear of jeans or on the back of a denim vest.
KEY LOOKS: Men’s and women’s jeans are treated with sand blasting, whiskering and hand-cut denim appliqueacute;s. Fine details include gold stitching, painting, studs and Native American–inspired embroidery. An embroidered denim vest with hand-cut detail, colored corduroy pants and stretch-poplin pants add variety for women.
WHOLESALE PRICE POINTS: For men’s denim, from $95 for most basic styles to $139 for novelty styles with studs and embroidery. For women’s denim, corduroy and stretch poplin, $89 for the most basic styles to $119 for novelty styles.
